On October 4th people in cities throughout the world will march as one voice to save Elephants and Rhinos. The countdown to their extinction has begun - unless action is taken now, we will lose these majestic, highly intelligent, and emotionally sentient creatures FOREVER.

Up to 50,000 Elephants are being killed every year so their tusks can be carved into ivory trinkets. A Rhino is slaughtered once every 9-11 hours for Rhino Horn. Their only hope for survival lies in an immediate end to the ivory and rhino horn trade (both "legal" and "illegal") and a meaningful opportunity to recover from decades of mass slaughter.

Please join the global march on Oct 4th to call for an end to the killing and a ban on ivory and rhino horn before it's too late.

Me: I joined this event because I love animals; all sorts of animals. I read a story a short time ago that I felt deep  in my heart and dreamt about for several nights. A baby rhino was found wandering in an animal preserve next to its mother. His mother was murdered, tortured for her horn. She fought to protect her baby while trying to fight off the poachers to no avail. There was no video of this horrific rhino attack. Nevertheless, I saw the image in my head for days. That baby rhino was orphaned and saw the entire attack and lost its mother. I can only imagine what kind of nightmare the baby endured.
But we can make a difference; you and I. It was humans that started and profit from this unnecessary and illegal slaughter. It is only humans that can stop it.
Please make a difference and march for the elephants and rhinos on October 4, 2014.

S. J. Francis
